I really enjoyed the first series Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu but the later series felt very poor and not just because of the Endless Eight fiasco. I'll get around to watching the full series again sometime just because the last few anime seasons haven't yielded much that's grabbed my interest.

Anyone else have any opinion they'd care to share?

I was extremely excited when I heard that there were FINALLY going to be more episodes. And then Endless Eight happened. Total fiasco, as you said. Every week I would get so excited/apprehensive that this would be the week, Endless Eight would end! But it didn't, and I eventually gave up hope. I never finished watching the rest of the season, but I did watch the movie. That movie was PERFECTION. I'm reading the light novels on my iPad now and I'm really enjoying them. Maybe I'll eventually get around to finishing the second season, but Endless Eight crushed my soul.
